Lois led the YSHS girls to a 3rd place finish as she finished first among D3 runners. The top 3 finishers were all freshman from the Metro Buckeye Conference, as Bethany from Xenia Christian finished 2nd and teammate Paloma finished 3rd. Kelly dropped out after the first mile with calf problems, as the team had 5 other runners to qualify the team. The YSHS boys team came in first. Lois had to gut it out at the end, as she mistakenly “made her move” prematurely due to not being able to walk the course beforehand. However, cheering and support from her boy teammates spurred her onto the finish, where Grandma and Grandpa were waiting with proud smiles and open arms.
