At a meet yesterday consisting of mainly teams from the Metro Buckeye Conference, Lois Miller broke the Yellow Springs (McKinney) middle school record for the mile, finishing first with a time of 5:44. The achievement was not without mixed feelings, as the record was held by her friend Paloma who had broken it last year but is sitting out this year due to injury, so there may be talk of an asterisk :). The two girls look forward to running together again on the high school cross country team in the fall. Lois also finished first in the 800 and in the 4 X 400, running the first leg. Yellow Spings girls finished first in the meet.
